Where do we get these Frozen Globs of Ectoplasm?

Before anything elase,

Merry Christmas to ALL !!!

Now for the question: Someone asked me this...

What is a Blue Ecto for?

What's it's use?

Where do we acquire it?

What monsters drop it?

I just answered Merry Christmas ! Because I do not know how to answer this someone.

For that someone who asked me this question:

May you have a Happy New Year and hope to find your Answer with the help of the community.

/wiki wintersday 2009

That will take you to the official wiki for wintersday 2009. Or just go there using your favorite browser. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Wintersday_2009|||Frozen Ectoplasm is dropped in the UW quests of the Rift Warden in LA and KMD (You're a mean one mr Grenth and In Grenth's defense iirc)

You can trade em in with Tonic Makers (collector) in LA and KMD for Yuletide tonic...

They won't thaw in summer...|||i wish they did:P

Newbie Here...

Hey! I am new to GuildWars and also to these forums.. (obviously) and signed up mainly for other new people, or more experienced players to teach me.. but I do need help with the game, seeing as I came so late...

well anyway.. if you are ever looking for something to do in GuildWars, add me (Blaze Aurora) and ill try to give your enemies a diversion..

Oh and I am also a level 6 Ranger, with a level 6 wolf :)|||Hey Blaze,

I'm an Aussie who joined GuildWars not that long ago, and I'm always looking for folk to run around with. Are you playing prophecies (the one where you start off just before the searing)? If so, give me a yell and we might be able to get something going. What's your in-game name?|||Wow, an Aussie! ha I didn't think there would be one..

yeah, my in-game name is Blaze Aurora.. and I have the "Guild Wars Game of the year Edition" and im pretty sure that has prophecies (the first one?)?

Sorry, im really new to this :D|||Don't worry about it, I haven't a clue what I'm doing either. Us wandering around together should make for a fun sight.

Funnily enough, I have the game of the year edition as well, and yepp, that's Prophecies. I'll look you up in game when I get on next.|||Haha yeah, what class are you?

I picked ranger because I thought using animals would make me stay alive longer...

And what is your ingame name btw?|||Hi guys. Feel free to give me a shout in-game or here on the forum. If I have time, I'd be happy to give you some company, pre- or post-searing.

I'm in the west, on at random hours over the Christmas break (but there's a chance you may catch me playing after I've been at the pub...)

Ign: St Sever|||Awesome... the more the merrier.. have you guys left old Ascalon yet? Because I have and am regretting it...

I might start again if you guys havent|||I've got characters all over the place.

If you wish to start again I have a perma-pre Necro who is available for partnering up with. I also have a Ranger I'm currently crossing the Shiverpeaks with. About level 12 and focussing on Beast Mastery, for better or worse.

I have other characters I've been playing for years. They're well equipped and have their Heroes but that's overkill for where you're at.

Why are you regretting leaving Old Ascalon?|||Because I still had quests to do.. should've done them, but I couldn't be bothered to get to the other side of the lake to get the girls Flute.... lol|||I have a Elementalist in the Shiverpeaks somewhere and a Ranger who just found her way through to New Ascalon. If you want to start a new one, I wouldn't mind that either.

Totally Lost...

I just recently got back into Guild Wars after a 3 month break and am totally lost. Can anyone give me some ideas on what to do? What's going on in the game right now adnare there any good guilds at the moment?|||Well there are the story lines of each of the games to run through if you haven't finished them all already. Otherwise I'd suggest doing what everyone else seems to be doing. Maxing out titles, doing the eye of the north dungeons and getting the daily Zaishen quests done.

Zaishen quests are given out on th sign posts in the great temple of balthazar. Three quests appear each day. One is a boss hunt, one a mission and one is a pvp arena. Each quest has one main objective (kill/complete/win) and then at least one other objective ontop of that (complete in hardmode, win X matches). You get Zaishen coins which can then be spent on various things including equipment packs that will hold weapons and armour for you.

Pretty much what the majority are up to right now so for groups Zquests will be your best bet.

As for guilds, depends what your looking for I guess. But I'd say there's both some good pve and pvp guilds still playing. Just takes some looking around.

New and in need of friendly people.

Hello people of GW! My name is Brock and I just bought the GW: Trilogy pack the other day. I already have learned some of the very basics to this game but was wondering if there are any guilds or just nice people in general who could help me along maybe? I've read some helpful things on here and whatnot but I would really like someone to quest with or someone who wouldn't mind showing me the ropes.

Please send an in-game whisper to Malicar Frost. I did have a character I made yesterday in which I got him up to a level 10 but decided to make another character. Starting from scratch. Join me.|||Welcome!

For generic info on basically whatever, you can always check the wiki. Beware, there be spoilers, so don't read quest/mission info unless you're sure you want it.

If you're looking for a guild, there's a generic guild recruitment forum and the forums of a few specific guilds at the bottom of the main list. (As a self-advertisement, I would of course recommend the GWO Alliance, and even more specifically the GWOnline Guild:P).

If you need help with anything, ask. You can message Raiala The Healer in-game if you spot me online.|||Welcome! I'm new to the game myself. Whisper Verattu Nektu in game sometime.|||Whisper Rio Despada, if you ever feel like playing with an ok Monk. Granted, I'm not as on in the game as I used to be and I'm not a high-end elite player... I only have one Monument in Eye of the North partially filled...|||Just a note for the newer people: How many monuments you have filled has nothing to do with how good you are at playing the game.|||Sorry? I guess I must have messed up the wording of my post. What I meant when I took a jab at my Hall, was that I'm not as on as others which is why it's so empty. How can you fill it up when your not on???

OT: Indriid, welcome to the forum, as you can see we can be quick to correct people!!! lol

I won't be able to log on for a while, I'll try to be on foe the end of the End of the Year Event tomorrow, so send me a message whenever you can!!|||I'm new too so i'll be happy to have a game with you if we happen to be online simultaniously

Old Schooler --> Newcomer

Hey guys I just registered here and just wanted to ask some questions.

I used to play Guild Wars back in the day, when it originally came out, and ive played all of the campaigns.

I havent played the game in maybe over a year and i decided to install it again.

Have there been a lot of changes?

My main question is, What is there still to do?

Thanks|||Things I can think of that have been added since EotN:

Zaishen Quests. Daily changing quests to do something in the game for a reward of zaishen coins that can be traded for various things like tomes or new inventory bags. From The Great Temple of Balthazar.

Codex Arena. Sealed deck 4v4 pvp. Skills change daily.

The Traveler. A collector, the place and items collected change weekly. You get gifts, max 5 per week per accounts, that can include party items, sweets, alcohol, new minis or new weapons.

Underworld changes. During last halloween, they added new enemies that deal damage that ignores all defensive stuff, and a bit later they added a new end boss type of thing. Some new drops, including a new scythe and two new minis.

Plus skill changes and some minor stuff like a new wintersday moa pet skin.|||Thanks, appreciate it.|||I've just started playing if you wanna team up or find a guild?|||I just joined a Kurzick guild recently because I wanted to just do some alliance battles but sure, my in game name is Rockk Lol Sup

I dont wanna miss xmas :)

so my lvl 16 necro is about to do zen (something) to find the afflicteds origin but im worried ill miss all the xmas excitment, is there a quick and easy way to get to a major center that has the xmas stuff?

Also, my warrior is in prophecies but i have only cleared a few missions after into the breach so cani get to lions arch sooon and easy?(again for xmas)

You see, my wife is just out of hospital and ive told her all about this game - and since were both xmas freaks shed love to see it

Thanks for the help, noob needs it. :)

(and yes im aware of the irony involved in posting a "i dont want to miss xmas" thread on boxing day and it makes me chuckle).|||Zen Daijun (think I'm spelling that right) is right before the short quest chain that takes you to the mainland in Cantha. After you get there, you can run yourself to Kaineng Center, to the North, and from there pick up a quest to go to either Lion's Arch or Kamadan (the Lion's Arch quest being a bit easier, but the Kamadan quest being perfectly simple given that you've got a full party of lvl 20 henchmen).

Either of those will let you see the decorations, but you might need both if there's different hats in each (I don't think there were last year, but it may have been done in years past, I forget).

So you're really close; It'd probably take your Necro about an hour to get to both locations.

Your Warrior, provided he has some cash, could just pay 2k to get a run to Lion's Arch from Ascalon City...some cheerful folk might even take you for free, given the nature of the season.|||Exactly what he said.

Finish Zen Daijun, take the boat to the marketplace, the take the NE exit into an area (I forget its name) in which you move straight north to kaineng center. In kaineng center, there's quest givers that give you several quests, one which by the description takes you to Prophecies (Lion's arch), the other to Nightfall (Kamadan). There's a third quest to go to Eye of the North (more on that below). Take all three, if you do all 3, you won't miss a thing.

The EotN quest is a bit longer, as if first takes you to a short mini-mission, then to the Boreal station outpost. From there, you need to make your way to the EotN outpost. This is the 3rd and final place where holiday stuff is happening.

Doing the EotN quests unlocks a rare pet that you should not miss. Also, on Jan 1st, you need to visit Lion's Arch & Kamadan, where every 3 hours hats will be given out. 2 hats per city (depending on who wins the minigame), so 4 hats to collect.

Aside from the 4 hats & the pet, anything else you may experience will come back next year.|||Thanks guys

A huge releif to hear im so close, now as soon as the baby goes to sleep i can see the sights

Thanks for the quick and friendly replies guys, this is why our board should be the official first stop for GW doodz - its just that kind

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO AL - cause he has cookies.|||xmas was awesome, just a quick thanx to Alaris and Erring for there help, my wife and i loved hte decorations and quests (the snowball fights were fun).

Cant wait for canthan new year, we love chinese new year you see.....

trouble with access key and log in

Recently purchased a copy of Guild Wars as a Christmas present for my cousin... He installed on computer and started the tuturial, writing down all info to log in again. The next time he tried to log in, it did not recognize his log in and stated that his access key was incorrect and he has not been able to log back in... He has called the telephone number listed, he has emailed daily, but has not had any success in getting in touch with the "powers that be"... any one have any suggestions as to how I can get him signed on to the game....

Thanks in advance!|||Where did you buy it? Was it a sealed box copy, or was it opened? Wait, that wouldn't matter... nvm. Keep trying to contact support and be nice.|||Purchased from Newegg.com, sealed box, brand new combo pack....|||Sounds like something that needs to be resolved through support. Good luck.|||Stop e-mailing every day. It won't get through support any faster, and it'll actually bog down the process.|||New game from Newegg.com|||If he used the correct 'access key' then all he would need to log in after that was his email, his password and the name of one of his characters.

There are 2 faults here that I can see from the information provided. He is either trying to log in with his full (and now used) access key which is needless because it won't work, he only needs his email, password and a characters name as stated or...

He signed up using the 2 week trial card that comes with Guild Wars (which you usually give to a friend). In which case his account would be invalid...about....wait for it...now! (If he opened and installed his gift before Christmas day).

I hope this was of some use to you!
