Just be careful you don't make a moron an officer who will boot all your carefuly gathered members! Good luck! :o)|||I thought there was a recruiting forum here? You might have better luck posting there if you haven't already.

It's tough though, no question about that. Good luck!|||Generally, new Guilds find it hard to keep members, even if they do recruit... New members generally prefer to be in already-active guilds. Once you get enough people, it becomes easier to recruit. My advice is if you already know some people like RL friends, that might help you get started.

Good luck though!|||If you are trying to recruit people, this is the wrong board. The board to recruit is down at the bottom, right before the GWO alliance section.|||Something you might wish to do is figure out what your guild's main objective is, and secondary objectives.

An example of this is say you want to shoot for specific titles, like factions titles, or eye of north, or factions titles.

Factions titles, if you can keep up with generating faction, can often generate lots of members, but are very high maintenance.

Once you figure out what you want to do, you need to get a good core membership going of people you trust and will stick with you.

This is usually the hardest part. Without other people to help you out, unless you're willing to do all the work yourself, you'll burn out quickly, and just not show up anymore, and thus, the guild will die.

That's another important thing, you, as leader, need to make an appearance at least once per day for a while, and keep track of how your guild is doing, and make executive decisions.

If you intend to be away for a while, you might wish to designate someone else as leader in your absence. Never be away from your guild for more then 3 days if you can help it.

Be careful who you promote, especially if you're in a faction generating guild, or are in a guild of prominence. As said, if you promote someone who becomes disgruntled, or comes in specifically to rat**** your guild, also known as 'guild spiking', where they boot all non officers, this can set you back quite a bit, or even pretty much kill your guild.

Promote based on trust, not just who does a lot, or looks like they're doing a lot.

Above all, remember that you can only get out of your guild that you create what you put into it, and who you help bring in.

Something you might wish to consider, if you feel your guild is failing, don't be afraid to give it up, or to merge with someone else, and learn.

I would advise, don't go buying up all NPCs right away until you're sure that you know what you're doing. Trying to sell a well stocked guild is harder then it seems. I've seen people advertising guilds that are fully stocked with NPCs, and selling them for less then 1/10th of what they put into it, and still not getting any buyers.

Just a few words of advice from someone who's been in a few guilds here and there and seen some of these things.

Note: if you want to make a pvp guild, you REALLY need to join a pvp guild first and learn the ropes, unless you have experience of such things from other games.
