HFF'ing still exist?

Hey, I found out recently that the Kurzick HFF doesnt work anymore.

So i'm just wondering if there is any other kind of HFF'ing out there for the Kurzicks?|||No. On the positive side, the faction rewards for quests, vanquishes, challenge missions, etc. have been increased, so it is now easier to gain faction in other ways. The nearest thing to the old HFF farm are the speed-clear farms (Drazach Thicket for Kurzick and Mt. Qinkai for Luxon).|||A little history on Hfff.

Way back in the day, the quest 'scouting melandru's hope', used to be a good faction generator.

People would get rangers, assassins, warriors, anyone who could run fast and get past the initial groups of mantids, usually with shadow form, they would run to, and hit the spots that would trigger the quest, a person at the door would then activate the quest, everyone else would die from spawns, be rezzed, grab reward, run in, grab door person, and repeat.

After the introduction of heros, people started using said heros to run to the activation points, once they figgured out the best places to put the heros at.

One person could run this by themselves, or with up to 3 other people.

This helped maximize guild faction, as everyone would be gathering faction at the same time.

Of course, this fell under the 'to good to be true' catagory, gaining 400 faction AND 150g a run, this added up fairly quickly. Also the 2000 exp was no small chunk of change either. Many a survivor maxed because of that quest. (raises hand 3 times for that)

This continued unabated until sometime in 2008, after a weekend event of double faction rewards for kurz and lux, so many people decided to use bots, which were in use before, but for that weekend, everyone and their dog were using bots to run the quest,

that anet finally had had enough.

Lindsey was already gearing up to make changes to the entire faction gathering, and by extension, it was a good time to make changes to quests like that which were getting abused.

In November, THIS update hit with a vengance. Kurzik Luxon faction changes

Vanquishing now gave one some a very large chunk of faction, in addition to the faction generated by killing mobs in HM.

The challenge missions were also updated to give better rewards per kill,

as well as higher faction rewards for Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry.

The quest for melandru's hope got changed so you had to kill all the mobs who spawned when you walked into their area, pretty much making it just another 'more stuff to kill' quest for people vanquishing the area.

Hfff as we knew it was dead.

BUT WAIT!

Players being the ingenious creatures that they are, figgured out you could get some severe faction rewards just for running NPCs in at Altrum ruins! And for a time, THAT was the new HFFF, which surpassed Hfff by leaps and bounds. Over a million points generated in a few hours for some.

Sadly, it was to much, and was subsequently nerfed a month later.

Eventually people settled into gaining faction via Jade Quarry and Drazah Thicket, with occasional runs to urgoz depending on if a group felt up for it or not,

with Alliance battles, and Mt Quinikai, for luxons as their major faction generators.

Fort Aspenwood, still isn't viable as a quick faction generator.

anyway, hope this catches you up on things.
