In any event, I'm hoping the community can help me understand WHY I have some of the crap I do now and what I should be selling it for. Crafting items are in question because there are just SO many of them (in some cases, literally thousands).
Any help is greatly appreciated

Here's a partial list (I know what some stuff, like UnIDed golds and party items, are for):
Candy Cane Shards
Various Summoning Stones
32 Demonic Remains
4 Feathers
300 Granite slabs
Piles of Glittering Dust
Victory Tokens
Monastery Creds, Imperial & Battle Commendations
Some Putrid Cysts
Underworld scrolls
Essences of Celerity
Phantom Keys
Elemental Dust
Decayed Orr Emblems
Leather Squares|||Well, there's much that need to be said to you. 1. Welcome back, 2. my condolences for being hacked and getting some of your precious stolen from you, 3. congratulations in getting reinbursement (?), and 4. where you would have wanted to go is price check forums, as there would be better concentration of people who can help you better with these things, and this thread will probably be moved there during or soon after I finish writing my post. However, I would be able to help you a little bit.
You would want to sell common materials in stacks; the rest should go into your storage materials panel to be sold later on when it becomes a stack. Check this thread on pricing guide for materials and scrolls in terms of how much you should ask for.
Things like Imperial commendations are worth 200g each. This is because the most efficient trade is for Superior Salvage kit, which can be traded for 5 credits and sold for 1k. The exception is the credits you get from starter areas such as Monastery credits, and they go for lower (100g) since they cannot be traded in for Superior Salvage kits. Prices are referred from here; it also contains pricing guide for some of the consumables in your list.
Keys AFAIK are sold to players for about halfway between the actual buy price from merchants and sell price to the merchants.
I do not know the going price for the following, as the collector tokens are for off-season festivities:
Quote:
Candy Cane Shards
32 Demonic Remains
Victory Tokens
Some Putrid Cysts
Elemental Dust
Decayed Orr Emblems|||A lot of that looks like items they tossed in for trades. I can give you advice on some stuff to keep, and some to toss.
Candy cane shards
If you have a fair number of them, they'll be worth a bit in a few months.
July will have Wintersday in july, and they'll be worth around 200-300 each.
Summon stones are only good for helping beat stuff up.
Usually I save them for vanquishing or for areas you need an extra ally.
Some people don't use them, and the going price on most stones are 500g, except for the rare ones.
Demonic remains I think were a recent Nick request, but he's asked for them and now... they're not in demand. They can be used for a collector, but... unless the collector is in a fairly easy to get location, like in a town or just outside of a town, you might not want to bother. If you want, some of us can buy them from you for about... 100g each if you want.
Feathers are good. Always high demand for those. Just toss them in storage though. Farm more. 8k per stack is the going rate.
Granite slabs are also fairly high demand items at rata sum because of weapons they sell there.
Glittering dust:see feathers.
Victory tokens. Used during canthan events. We just had one a week ago, so you'll have to sit on them for a while. Next event comes up in july, Dragon festival.
You'll be able to farm for more tokens with your charas and trade them in for a mask, or sell them to other players, or use them for some consumables. Popular item to get is the cupcakes. (last going price on those were 400g each)
Monastary creds and commendations are used as alternate currency for traders at shing jea and Kaineng. Best use for them is for ID and salvage kits. Saves 100-400g.
Putrid cysts are another collector item. Yes, nick has asked for them already, but they're used for a collector who gives top armor for those who can't afford the good stuff from Kaineng. Hang around marketplace and there's usually people willing to pay 100g per for those.
Underworld scrolls can be used in one of the 3 outposts you go to get to UW/FoW.
UW scrolls go for a good amount, and during dry patches in favor, people might be willing to buy those. You can also use them for yourself or friends if you preffer.
Usually worth around 1.5 selling to players.
Phantom keys-keys for use in Underworld. Problem though, they're expensive, only good in normal mode, and chests don't really show up much there until you've cleared most of UW out. Also people use lockpicks nowadays anyway. You can try and sell them to players, but I doubt you'll get many takers. If you can solo UW on your own or with a small team, take them with you. Otherwise, dump them at merch.
Elemental dust, Another collector item. Nick has not asked for those, but even if he did, we could get tons of them in a short while. EIther find the collector who uses them and see if you can get anything good from them, or just salvage them for glittering dust.
Decayed orr emblems. Depending on how many you have, and how long you wanna wait, you can save those for halloween, or sell them to someone for around 50g or so each. There's usually someone willing to buy.
Leather squares, Crafting item, toss in storage for later use.
If you need weapons and armor, I think some of us here can help. Let us know what you need, and we should be able to help you at least with basics for your charas and heros. Several of us have tons of junk greens and weapons we can't really use that much of. Just go through your charas and make lists of things you feel you'll need.
I cant say we'll help you totally refit with delux armor, you will have to do some work yourself, but we can probably get you back on your feet.|||Quote:

You're thinking of Phantom Residues (which also drop in the Underworld). Nick hasn't asked for Demonic Remains yet, so they might be worth keeping if one has the space, in case Nick ever does want them. Otherwise they can be salvaged for Glittering Dust.
From the looks of that list -- Demonic Remains, Phantom Keys, UW scrolls, and Essences of Celerity -- the hacker must have been spending some time in UW.|||Quote:

Demonic relics is what you're thinking about. The ones from Nightfall.|||Yeah, you guys are right. Demonic remains are from UW, and look like the shadow essence crap.
And yes, nick has not asked for those yet, I'm sure he will one of these days.
(got a near full stack just WAITING for that week to arrive)
And yeah, I was thinking demonic relics.
So he's been going to UW, hunh? To bad there were no leftover stacks of ectos there.
My guess is the hacker was anticipating the account was going to get banned or taken from them, so they kept moving all the stuff off.
SERIOUSLY hope that anet is able to track traders with that account, and figure out who was the runner of said account, and nuke them. Shouldn't be to hard, just follow the money.|||First of all, thank you all SO MUCH for your help! Sounds like I will be able to get some of my cash back. If you want to know a secret: I was saving all my dough until they announced what HoM what get you in GW2. If it meant new outfits, I was going to go CRAZY buying up 15k armor! Hey, my main is a Mesmer, sue me.
Should I be selling stuff like the Glittering Dust directly to players? Or to the vendors? I literally have thousands of those :/
What's crazy is they started a guild with my account! I kicked all the players once I got my account back. It gave me some satisfaction. It was a moment I would have given anything for a Guild Storage account. That would have been the hotness. But, seriously, I was looking forward to buying all those fancy clothes :(
Anyway, thanks again everyone - truly appreciate the help. I guess I'm going to try and find a guild or something now. I'd like to get some more titles, specifically HM. Maybe I'll work on a Defender of Ascalon (ughughguhguhg) since I'm a Tyria-phile.|||Quote:

You have 3 ways to do that: sell to the trader, trade to other players, or turn them into consumables and then sell those. I recommend the latter two, because if you have thousands you would want something faster than clicking "check quote" for hundreds of times.|||GLittering dust and feathers tend to make BU's, aka, essence of cerelity.
Those are the cons that make hardmode less hard. If you have eye of the north, check the consumables guys in each of the major towns there.
A lot of us are still waiting to see what HoM offers us for GW2.
