See what skills other people have used?

Is there any way to see what skills other people have useed, other than actually watch them use it? I sometimes get the feeling that other people have some sort of list, cause some people seem to know a lot about what skills have been used in games...and they can also ping for example " X used dash" and such?|||There's no other way for you to know someone else's skills besides watching them use it. Some more experienced people can look at some skills and kinda predict the rest of the build, but that's just it.

When you see someone ping "XXX is using skill"" it refers to a skill that's currently being cast (being, it's not finished its casttime). If you see "XXX used skill YY" the ping refers to the 1 sec interval a skill remains after it's been used (skills don't disappear right after being used, they stick around for a small bit of time).|||You can ping a skill as it is being used by ctrl + click on the skill icon as appears, this causes the message 'X Is using X' to show in teamchat. As the skill icon+warmup bar stay up for a few seconds after it's been activated, pinging it at this stage shows 'X Used X' in teamchat.

Other than that, people just recognise the graphical effect animation as they skill is being used (for example, of you get hexed with Diversion, the hexed target shows all this swirly purple stuff around them for a second), or just know what skills to expect from what the current meta is. There is no list of skills used.

[edit] I got ninja'd.|||Monks get the opportunity to be especially snooty about other people's builds, because they have team members selected so often. In PvE, they can pretty much just sit back and watch other people use bad skills, and if they're feeling like tough love, call them out to embarrass the person. |||You can also tell the skill by the animation. Many skills have unique animations.|||Lets see... if you're targeting someone, you can see what skills they use and ctrl-click to call them out. ("X is using Y!")

You have icons on the side of your screen showing the last few sources of non-attack damage. This can include skills other people have used.

Many skills have custom casting animations, which experienced players will recognize.

Once again for experienced players, it's often possible to infer parts of a build that you haven't seen. (That warrior has "conjure lightning" and "cripslash", therefore he almost certainly has "frenzy", "rush", "gash", "sun and moon strike", "bull's strike" and "res sig" as his other six skills.)

And finally you can identify skills by their effects - you keep getting dazed without getting interrupted? Probably a BHA ranger. Your entire team suddenly has the mesmer hex "Panic!" on them? Almost certainly a mesmer with "Panic!" as their elite.|||Diversion makes a loud noise when you get hit by it, and if you use *any* skill, that skill gets disabled for a really long time.

So if your favorite spam skill takes a huge time to recharge, you know why.|||Quote:

Rush. Not Dash. :)|||Quote:

Yeah...although actually getting the build's skills correct wasn't the point here...|||Quote:

Oh, I understand that.

I was demonstrating that knowing the builds is a common skill, and one that is acquired simply by playing GW for any length of time.
