Various heroes build advice?

[:1]Sorry in advance for all the threads i need to make for my heroes in the other profession forums.

my heroes Ogden Stonehealer (Mo/??), Vekk (E/??), Gwen (Me/??) and M.O.X (D/??), i need some advice on how to set up their attributes and skills, where to get them, and where to find a hero skill trainer.

i have all three core games and eotn.

also what kind of weapon and runes should i be looking for to give them.|||First, it's not done to post the same (or virtually the same) posts across multiple forums.

Second, as you're asking about heroes and not character profession, I moved the (merged) thread to the question forum.|||That was partially my bad, I told him to look at the profession forums for build suggestions. There are stickies in several of the forums, but the heroes you're asking about have super easy guidelines until you gather up some good skill unlocks.

First of all, any elites you cap on any of your characters automatically become available to all your heroes across the entire account.

Mesmer: Pick either Illusion or Domination. Split her points Dom or Ill/Fast Casting/Inspiration. Use inspiration only for managing her energy (i.e. Power Drain.) Probably don't use any FC spells at all, just enjoy its passive effect.

Monk: Split the points 3 ways between protection, healing and divine favor. Don't take more than one 10-energy or higher spell.

Ele: Pick one element (air for example) and put 12 attribute points in it and 12 points in energy storage. Take the attunement for the choosen element (i.e. Air Attunement) to help with energy management. Fill in with whatever skills you have at the moment, and keep an eye out for skill trainers and ele bosses to cap skills.

Derv: A little more complicated to make a good build. Go 12 scythe/12mysticism. Basically aim for ~ 3 attack skills, ~3 flash enchants, a skill that increases attack speed and something else. Again, check the profession forums for more details.|||sorry about that, I guess i should have posted all this in the newcomer questions thread in the first place.

but thank you for understanding my confusion moment.

now back on topic.

should i try and do factions and nightfall content to get extra skills unlocked for my heroes? seeming some of the EotN content can be challenging untill i get better skills unlocked for my heroes.

also what heroes are available in nightfall? I might venture into nightfall content if that's where the ritualist and necro heroes are.|||You can get heroes of all professions in Nightfall and/or Eye of the North. Nightfall has a ton of heroes, at least one of each profession. Eye of the North has exactly one hero for each profession.

Click here for information on heroes|||I've merged all four opening posts into a single one, just to tidy up this post-merge thread, mindfray. You're free to edit back in anything I may have inadvertently left out in the process. |||Quote:

If you want a ritualist in your party, you probably want to go through the first bit of EotN and get to Gunner's Hold. There you can fight through the Norn tournament, and if you beat Xandra (one of many Round 2 opponents) she will join your party.

If you want a necro, Olias is probably the fastest to get out of the three if you haven't already gotten one. Head over to Nightfall and continue until you get to the Consulate Docks mission (you can alternatively catch a ferry there), and pick up a quest "All for One and One for Justice" from one of the NPCs there. If you already have Olias and want another necro, you can trek your way to Gadd's Encampment through EotN and complete Finding Gadd questline to gain Livia (Note: I'm suggesting Livia here because if you pick Master of Whispers you are pretty much stuck with Dzagonur Bastion which is a total pain in the rear end).|||No worries Mindfray, welcome to the forum, and know that we understand it takes a bit of time to assimilate the rules and ways of the forum.

I see others have given you a lot to read!!!|||Quote:
