please answer ASAP|||You are having issues because GW is not made to run on a Mac OS.

I have read some articles that it works if you dual boot your PC and install a Windows Partition (but you need Windows Disc/Reg key to do that.)

You might try searching this forum for GW and Mac and see if there are articles on how to from the users.

Good Luck|||I'm trying to install GW on a Vista Laptop but it freezes before it downloads the last bit. I let it download for a long time but it doesn't continue so i can never get it to install. I played it fine on my old XP laptop.|||Try installing it to somewhere other than Program Files - perhaps just c:\GW or the like. It may have something to do with Vista's built-in "write protection" for the Program Files folder.|||On the apple laptop issue: There are 2 options here.
  1. If you have an older (non-Intel processor) system, you must use a Windows Emulator and I have NO idea if GW will even run under one of them.

  2. If you have a new (Intel processor) system, either a Windows emulator (per above) OR a dual boot into Win XP. You should be able to install and run GW as normal after the Win XP is booted on the Mac.

Note that I've actually never tried these, just read some threads on these boards that describe the possibility of running Guild Wars on a Mac.|||If installing GW on vista be sure to have vista updated completely before installing. Prior to SP1 there were all sorts of problems that could conflict with all sorts of things hardware and software. If vista is complete up to date and there are still problems more info will be needed to troubleshoot what is happening.|||Hello everyone i just bought guild wars trilogy over steam and when it was completed i ran it and it said like this: Chose directory C:\valve\steam\bla bla bla and when i pressed okay i get this message.

unable to install: The installer could not write guild wars t othe specified direcotry. please check that you have administruve access. that you have permission to install prigrams in the specified directory. and that there is sufficient space avaiable on the drive.

I have the complete administrive rights and i tryed to run as admin but that did not work either. i got like 100gb free space on my hard drive so that can't be it. please help me|||Do you have a guild wars directory?

If not, create one and try again.

So something like "c:\valve\steam\guild wars\"

It sounds like it is looking for some place to place the gw.dat file and such, but it is having trouble creating the directory.|||Try downloading the client from Guildwars.com instead.

And turn off Steam while installing it. It might suck up the bandwidth required for the game download.

Also, welcome to guildwars :)

Link to the client download at guildwars.com:http://www.guildwars.com/support/dow...nt/default.php|||Quote:
