[:1]So I got my old account back up and running, and it has a stupid named lvl 18 war/mo and a level 13 ranger/mez.
Both characters are about six years old, but nothing really noteworthy about them that I know of besides being six years old, and the warrior has a few holloween and xmas items from six years ago.
My main problem is I remember almost nothing of the lore or quest I've done on either of them or anything. And as I'm getting into the gear of things for GW2 I wonder if it might just be better to make a fresh character.
I also have only played prophecies. So here is my question to you all who know better than I.
Would it be shooting myself in the foot to just buy factions/nightfall/EoN and start a new character in factions and work my way from there? Or should I remake a character in prophecies and then once I beat that move on to Factions/nightfall/EoN.
Any comments would be welcomed. Thank you!|||Only way you could shoot yourself in the foot would be to delete those two characters. Birthday presents can be expensive, if you've got the 6th bday presents already you could delete if you really want to, but I'd save them in case 7th bday presents come out before gw2.
Buying the new chapters is a good idea, and getting back up to lvl 13/18 can be done in a matter of days if you work at it.|||Considering how cheap the expansions are now (compared to release), I definitely don't think you'd be shooting yourself in the foot. Hang on to your old characters, but feel free to start a new one (or several). In terms of speed in reaching level 20, Factions is probably the quickest. You could make a new character there, then get to Kaineng and either continue on in Cantha or head to one of the other continents.
Once you've re-familiarized yourself with the game, you could go ahead and pick those old characters up again. You could also check the wiki to remind yourself of what you've already done on them.|||So it wouldn't hurt at all to just make a new character (have to find a class I want to be a main now lol) and have them do everything?
If that's the case then I'll probably do factions->Nightfall->EoN and then loop around to prophecies for whatever i need for my HoN.
Now to find a proff that I want to max out..|||Given the current pricing for Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North I would go ahead and buy them. At least that will give you a few more slots for toons.
As for starting a new toon, which chapter to play depends on how fast you learn, do you like PvP and how you play. If you are like me and want to dig into the game, dislike PvP and prefer ranged toons, build your self another Proph toon and learn as you go. Proph will allow a lot of time to explore game mechanics. Factions is for high speed people that like PvP. Nightfall falls in between, not too fast not to slow.|||It doesn't take much to get back into the lore of the game go back redo some mission to familiarize with it.You can also change your warriors name by buying the charator name change.
