[:1]Hi.
So I'm looking for something to pass the time with and after hearing more and more good stuff about number 2 I thought I might see if I could do some of the HoM stuff.
So here's a few questions if some kind person could answer them.
I have a sin that was my main, well has done more than my old main which was a ranger. Which would be the better choice to fly through the missions/HM/etc? I would of thought it would be the sin giving as I've done probably twice as much as my ranger but I don't know if sins have been hit by the ubernerf bat or not.
I used to use three hero sabway(I think, or one of the *way's) and henchies, mostly a solo player, but excited to hear you can use full heros now. Is the best bet for mishes/HM/etc the 7 hero build (http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_7_Hero_Player_Support)? Considering I'm pretty much back to clueless as to builds.
I have a few purple pets from bday gifts, none of which are dedicated yet, is it better for me to keep those and dedicate them to my HoM or sell them?
I have a load of stuff in my bank, prety much full, not really sure whether they're worth anything or not, any advice here on how I can free up space and figure out what's worth keeping and whats for the market?
It's a lot, I know, but I'd appreciate any help you have, thanks!

No idea how good any pvxwiki builds are. What you definitely need, and what's missing on first glance on that build suggestion, is a smiter monk with Strength Of Honor, if you opt for the assassin.
That teambuild looks decent. Could probably be tweaked a bit here and there, but whatever. I run something similar, yet somewhat different, but some key skills are the same. A team like that mows through HM and NM indeed. But as I said, you want to bring specific buffers for yourself, if you opt for the assassin. High damage numbers are fun to see.
No idea about minis. I just dedicate all I get, but I don't give a rat's fluffy lower back about the "ingame economy". So, I can't and won't try to help with the last question as well.|||Don't use this build stick with mostly all minions and use heal area and Dwayna's Sarrow as well as a res of some kind.

I thought that would be the case, thanks :)

Yea there's the SoH variant for the smiting monk, for those running a melee main, apparently. I'll go for this then, working on getting the skills I haven't got :)

Hehe, 2 out of 3 aint bad :)

At the number of minis you'll need, I'd dedicate what you've got (instead of the aggravation of trading) and buy the rest (or wait until your other toons spawn some birthday gifts).|||In addition to a SoH smiter, I'd recommend an orders necro as well. It could even be on the same character (blood/smite necro.) Sins attack really fast so any buff gets amplified to crazy amounts.
I'd skip the hokey caster teams you find on wiki and go with yourself as the main source of damage. With a sin you can literally be only source of damage on the team and still do well, but when you add things like Splinter Weapon, Ancestor's Rage, etc., things just asplode.|||Quote:

Hi Zahra, thanks for the reply. Sorry for my nubness, I'm just slightly confused. Are you saying it's better for me to dedicate all pets that I haven't already got dedicated? Including the two purple ones? From a brief read, they're worth about 5k each I think. Of the remaining 50 I need, how many of those can be white pets? Assuming white pets are the cheapest to buy...

Hi Age. There's already a minion necro on that build, are you saying there should be more than one? What about places where there's no corpses? Is there a specific reason you think I shouldn't use this build? Bear in mind I'm pretty much cluless as to what skills to pick atm, the 7 player build linked was more of a base to work off while I try to get back to grips with all the skills.

Hi Fluffball. I didn't really notice that is was a mainly caster build. I just looked at the fact it shut down casters and thought "well, guess that's good". There seems to be room for a Paragon in the 7th slot. Do you think more melee would be better? Could you ellaborate on an "Orders Necro" please? I've not a clue what that is lol. Also, I noticed my old build has a SoH smiter on it, but SoH was set to not auto cast. I guess that was because the AI was a bit dumb? Is that still the case?
Thanks for the replies, very helpful so far :)
Cheers,

I have been known to pay slightly higher prices than market just to get out of Spamadan and to sell at lower prices (but still within range of market prices) for the same reason. The thought of selling in order to buy just sounds like pure torture to me.
Of course, you may have to buy minis anyway, or you may find yourself lucky enough to be part of an alliance where people regularly offer their own undedicated minis to buy/trade. In which case, you don't have to stand in Spamadan for hours trading.
Also, be careful about evaluating prices... you'll need 50 minis for full HoM points, of which 1 gold and 1 green. The green one can be the black moa chick (if you haven't sold it/given it away). The gold one can be a celestial pet from a Canthan New Year. That leaves 48 minis to fill up the monument.
There are 40 white minis in all 5 years of birthday gifts. The fifth year ones are more expensive than the 1st year ones (the fifth year white minis can go in the 30k+ range each). That means you'll need to put in at least a few purples in there to get to 50.
So, *IF* you plan on getting that monument full, selling the purple minis in order to buy white ones isn't such a good idea. Of course, if you don't plan on getting the minis monument full, adjust my advice as needed.
Oh, to check prices, I like the Argos website:
http://argos-soft.net/GwEstimator/
It'll give you a recent history of trade channel messages containing whatever keywords you put in there. You'll be able to see WTS and WTB prices for the items in more real-time than forum threads (though I check both, to be sure I'm not caught in some insane market bubble).|||Well I guess I'll just keep them on an alt till I can figure out what to do with them properly lol. Seems I got a lot of pets to buy then... *sadfais*
That website looks like just what I wanted, cheers!
Thanks again,

Paragon is a nice option for "Incoming!" (sin teams move at a frenetic pace) and damage buffs. Another option would be a rit with 16 in channeling for a BIG Splinter Weapon and some command buffs.
"Orders" are a few blood magic skills. Either Order of the Vampire or Order of Pain (they are mutually exclusive in function) add ~ 17 damage or life stealing to all your attacks, as well as every physical attack in the party. There are several other nice support skills like Mark of Fury (maybe not useful for a sin) and Blood Bond. I'm sure the wiki can offer suggestions. This hero will have plenty of room for other support skills, like smiting, SW/Arage, Mark of Pain, Command skills, etc.
Re: Melee, the general consensus is to not use them. I almost ALWAYS use them and find them quite useful. Melee are always going to drastically out damage spell casters, but hero melee AI is definitely weird until you get used to it. I have used them successfully in nearly every area of the game, including the new "extra HM" content with level 40 titans. Melee hero are also not that great at spamming skills, so avoid assassins if you wind up taking them. If you wind up with channeling and blood magic buffs, barrage rangers can do a decent job taking advantage of that, and their AI is just fine.
SoH is a maintained enchant, so disable it on your hero and have them cast it on you and any other melee they have the e-management to handle. If you un-disable it, the hero will cancel the maintained enchant.
