[:1]Hi all
I just bought GW trilogy and EOTN few days ago and started a devish/ranger and is now at lvl 11
One of my main purpose of purchasing these is for the hall of monuments. Here are some of my questions.
1- If i only play for around 2hrs during the weekdays and ~4hrs during the weekends, how long do i need to complete HOM?
2- Should I focus on 1 char only? or more is better?
3- What are some of the tradable achievements in HOM? weapons and armours only?
4- Do i have to do all the entire quests available in each campaign? or only the primary quests will do?
Thanks for the help people |||1 - hm, a few months. Rushing through the main quests is fast enough, but for a full HOM, you also want the cartography, skill hunter, and vanquisher titles, plus full EotN reputation title tracks.
2 - You want one character that maximized most titles. If you've instead 1 from Nightfall with full protector/guardian/etc for Nightfall; and another one from Tyria with the same for Tyria, then you won't get the "legendary" titles full.
I don't know if a dervish is the ideal choice to hunt titles with though. Depends on what type of gameplay you like, I suppose.
If you weren't so focussed on the HoM, I'd definitely suggest that you roll a character of each profession until you know which one you like best, and then use that one to pursue the title tracks with. That might be better, but will cost you some more time to decide which one you like best.
3 - tradable = can be bought? Armor, Hero Armor, the ugly weapons, and the minis. Some title tracks can also be bought. Consumable titles come to mind immediately (drunkard and that kind of stuff), but the "pvp" title (zaishen, up to rank 3 - then you can put it into the HoM) is another choice for buying.
You will run into monetary issues if you pursue these titles. If you buy gold from some shady website, you're bound to get your account banned.
4 - Side quests are just that. Side quests. Not necessary for any HoM titles, unless they give some goodies in the end which you could use for the HoM.|||Quote:

This, except that the secondary quests could help with cartography at times. If you aren't one for exploration, then secondary quests are a good motivation to explore. The real crap shoot part of the cartography titles is when you get to about 95%. At that point, it could be pretty tough to find parts of the map you haven't uncovered yet.
I would also recommend that you SAVE as much as you can. Identify white weapons prior to selling them (you boost their value a bit by doing that). Also, after you salvage runes off of the enemy armor drops, be sure to Identify them as well, because just like white items you will slightly boost their value, especially if the rune is a cheap at the rune trader.|||wow, i guess i shouldn't spend so much of my time on this lol. Will i need more or less than 6months?|||To completely fill the HoM, probably more. Depends on how full you want it, though. A lot of people stop at 30 points, which gives all the physical goodies; 31-50 are just titles.
You don't need to rush though. Anet's not shutting down GW1 anytime soon, and you can still add to HoM after starting in GW2.|||Quote:

I see, so the first 30 points is easier to get then? Maybe i should spend too much time for that after all
another question from me..
When linking GW acct to GW2 acct, must they share the same NCsoft account?|||It's easier simply because you need less points, and can get them doing easier things (for example, you get statues simply for finishing the chapters of the game). Personally I stopped at thirty because the titles don't interest me, so no reason to keep going.
As for the NCsoft question, I'd say probably, but we don't know yet.|||My advice is pick a class you enjoy, and stick with it. It costs less, and makes it faster to get to higher income (hard mode). Also, try for survivor on the first try if you can... It's somewhat harder to get after, but if you keep quest rewards and books to use when you have enough XP, it makes it less risky.
Aim for 30 in HoM, and see if you want more later... The first few points are easy, and it gets progressively more difficult.
