The combination of Spiteful Spirit and Panic

I'll start off by posting these skills effects:

Spiteful Spirit

For 8...18 seconds, whenever target foe attacks or uses a skill, Spiteful Spirit deals 5...29 shadow damage to that foe and all adjacent allies of that foe.

Panic

For 1...8 seconds, target foe and all nearby foes are hexed with Panic. When a foe hexed with Panic successfully uses a skill, all other nearby foes are interrupted.

Alright. We now know what the skills do. What I am interested in finding out is wether the damage from SS applies before Panic interrupts, or not.

GWWiki about SS:

Damage from this hex is applied before the skill actually activates or the attack actually hits. For example, a self-heal will trigger Spiteful Spirit before the heal occurs.

I'm not sure, but the way I understand it SS would deal damage before Panic would interrupt. Am I correct?

Please leave your interesting thoughts |||I thought Panic didn't interrupt the one finishing a skill, just everyone nearby?|||your answer is no. and is not reliant on panic at all.

Your question is about SS, if the dmg trigger at the beginning of a skill activating, thus dealing dmg even if if the skill is interrupted (by panic or any other source) or if it deals dmg after the skill is done casting.

The answer is the latter. If you are hexed with SS and cast troll ungent and cancel it (interruoting yourself) SS wil not trigger. It triggers after a skill is finished casting but before the skills effect takes place. I. e if you have 10 hp are hexed with ss on rank 15 curse and use a self heal, you will die. if that self heal is interrupted by panic, you survive (for a lil while longer).
